What is NLP?

What is NLP?  -  Neuro Linguistic Programming

The dictionary definition of NLP is 'A connection between neurological processes ('neuro'), language ('linguistic') and behavioral patterns that have been learned through experience ('programming') and that can be organized to achieve specific goals in life'

Neuro: We all have inside us an individual model for how we deal with things. Without conscious thought we all have our own inbuilt response to external pressures and stimulus. We first form a mental map of the world which is constructed of internal images, tactile awareness,  sounds, tastes, smells and external sensations, that form as result of the neurological filtering process.

Linguistic: We then assign a personal picture to the information we have received from the world outside. We construct our second mental map by applying language to the internal images, sounds and feelings, tastes and smells, thereby forming a mental image in our conscious minds. This forms part of the linguistic process and allows us to explore and form judgements.

Programming: The result of a learned behavioural response that is based on information from our neurological filtering process and the subsequent linguistic map.

What can Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming help with?

At Motivation4  we believe NLP is about freedom, the freedom of choice to do the things you want in the way you want to.

NLP is a key that unlocks those choices and empowers us to explore new boundaries by changing the way we think and perceive things.  NLP is about learning to learn the way your brain learns rather than the way you've been taught to learn.

It's about learning to move quickly beyond limitations. It's about making your mind up, rather than your mind making up you.
